Sarah-fisher-tlmftSarah is a pre-licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in Nashville, Tennessee. She earned her Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Lipscomb University’s COAMFTE-accredited MFT program, where she did an independent study in autoimmune disorders and chronic painwithin family systems. She is specially trained through her graduate program to work with couples in every relationship stage.

WHY WORK WITH SARAH?

During her graduate program, Sarah accrued nearly 500 client hours as a clinical intern at both the Lipscomb Family Therapy Center and the Tennessee Prison Outreach Ministry. Her therapeutic interventions are informed by attachment theory, which she models through safe presence and unconditional positive regard towards her clients. She practices an integrated and evidence-based approach to treatment that incorporates attachment needs, narrative techniques, Gottman Method, cognitive-behavioral therapy, and family systems interventions. 

As a former journalist, Sarah knows the importance of story. She looks forward to helping you re-write your story and empowering you to be the hero of your tale: a hero who is self-determined, confident, and secure in relationship with others.

As a systems practitioner, Sarah values the collaborative, holistic style of care provided by Melanie’s practice. She believes that the health of the mind, body, and soul are all connected and brings that awareness into her therapy through practices that honor the complexity of the human system.

FUN FACT

Sarah was born in England and raised in a small town outside of London. She has lived and worked in the United States since 2008. Her hobbies include reading, writing, voraciously enjoying the arts, going for walks with friends, and spending time in lively conversation with friends and family.
